Macquarie Data Centres latest build, expands the Macquarie Park Data Center Campus in Sydney to 50MW IT Load. This significant development will be undertaken in phases to meet the needs of hyperscalers, cloud and content service providers and the government sector.

Phase 1 completed in 2020, known as Sydney IC3 East, delivers an additional 11MW IT Load and 13,400m² total floor space. IC3 East is Uptime Institute Tier III certified with a design PUE of 1.28. Additional facility certification includes: ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, PCI-DSS, SOC 2 I/II, and IRAP.

Phase 2 will see the IC3 Super West development adding a further 32 MW of IT load, as well as lifting IC3 East to 12MW, enabling the total campus IT Load capacity to 50MW.

Intellicentre 3 Super West will be designed, constructed and operated to meet the needs of corporate, government and multi-national customers and enhance New South Wales’ cybersecurity infrastructure and capabilities.

The new facility will be the largest data centre on the campus and home to our Sovereign Cyber Security Centre of Excellence with an integrated mix of leading edge physical and virtual infrastructure designed to monitor and manage cybersecurity events. The 24/7 centre with be monitored by trained engineers equipped with the latest tools.

Cooling Sydney’s IC3 Data Centre.

Macquarie Data Centre is a concurrently-maintained facility, Uptime Tier III certified, and featuring a level floor design with two convenient loading docks and lifts with quick paths to the data halls.

The pre-action sprinkler system and MASD fire detection infrastructure is cutting-edge technology that prevents damage.

The cooling capacities feature a water leak detection system across the Macquarie Park Data Centre Campus. The N+1 chilled cooler has a waterside-free cooling component and a hot aisle containment design with chilled water buffer tanks.

Energising Sydney’s IC3 Data Centre.

The colocation data centre has a total load capacity of 50MW and a utility supply of 2N redundancy. Clients have the choice to house up to 4.8 within each of the data halls, with N+1 diesel generators and diesel tanks on the campus to power through energy grid downtime.

Security.

On-site security patrols are performed around-the-clock and all year-long.

There is a vehicle snare at the entry gate and CCTV continuously monitors both the exterior and interior spaces. The CCTV feed is kept for 90 days.

Access to the data halls is permitted only after the three-factor authentication process which includes biometric scans, electronic locking cages and racks, and automatic security breach alarm and response protocols.
